Based in London at the Royal College of Music, the Mirari Quartet was formed in 2024. They will make their international debut in April 2026, performing Nielsen’s Quartet No.2 in Copenhagen. In 2025, the Mirari Quartet collaborated with the BBC to record well known string quartets in the style of the Borodin Quartet for the radio drama “Stormy Applause” which was broadcast on BBC Radio in October and follows the Borodin Quartet’s early journey. The ensemble has enjoyed performing a range of repertoire, such as Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro at St James Piccadilly—joined by fellow musicians of the Royal College—and Holy Sepulchre Church; and Janacek’s “The Kreutzer Sonata”; as well as having an interest in the music of contemporary female composers, which has led to them having performed Jessie Montgomery’s “Strum” on different occasions. They also often perform at J & A Beare’s in Marylebone. The Mirari Quartet regularly works with the Sacconi Quartet–and members of the Marmen and Piatti Quartets–and attended the Sacconi Quartet’s academy in Folkestone in January 2026. They will perform alongside the Sacconi Quartet and Simon Crawford-Phillips in the 2026 Sacconi Chamber Music Festival. They have performed in masterclasses with many eminent musicians such as Tim Frederiksen, Mats Zetterqvist and Bryony Gibson-Cornish. The ensemble is also invested in performing for charitable causes, and have performed in regular charity concerts, raising money for causes such as the International Red Cross and the Rennie Grove Peace Hospice, and will continue to do so this year.
