Peter Ryan, violin
Peter Ryan, a multi-instrumentalist from Kildare, is the first ever Irish Leader of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. He studies with Professor Ani Schnarch atthe Royal College of Music as an RCM Scholar.
A former student of both the RCM Junior Department (RCMJD) and the Yehudi Menuhin School, Peter has won several awards, including the Michal Kaznowski Chamber Music Competition playing at the Wigmore Hall with his piano trio. Last Winter he was presented by the RCMJD as outstanding soloist at the Royal Albert Hall Elgar Room.
At RCMJD, he led both their Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. As NYOGB Leader, he has performed at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall. He was also Leader of the Ulster Youth Orchestra for two years. For the 25/26 Ulster Orchestra season Peter is participating on their professional experience scheme.
Peter has appeared on RTE’S Late Late Show, the Ryan Tubridy radio show, Lyric FM, and performed as soloist with the RTE Concert Orchestra. He has taken masterclasses with many renowned pedagogues including Maxim Vengerov, Darragh Morgan, Tasmin Little, Kirill Troussov, Tatiana Samouil, Rodney Friend, Maxim Rysanov. He played at festivals such as West Wicklow, Irish Heritage UK and Westport as a “Rising Star”. As runner up in Nicola Benedetti’s Elgar competition, he was invited to perform in the V&A Dundee. Peter took part in the Camerata Academy last summer, led by Barry Douglas CBE.
An accomplished pianist, Peter studied under Dr David Mooney at TU Dublin Conservatoire and now studies with Martin James Bartlett at the RCM. He was a participant in the Dublin International Piano Competition’s Young Pianist Programme led by artistic director Finghin Collins. Peter studied Composition with Dr Elfyn Jones at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and was selected to participate in “Snapshots,” a professional development opportunity presented by the Fidelio Trio in collaboration with the Contemporary Music Centre Ireland. Peter previously served as organist for the Palestrina Choir’s Friday Vespers. Peter plays on a 1701 P. Pommier on generous loan from the Beares International Violin Society.
Joe Netley, violin
Joe Netley is a 19 year old British-Japanese violinist currently studying with a full scholarship at the Royal College of Music under professor Radu Blidar, as a Robey Scholar. He previously studied for ten years at the Junior Royal Academy of Music under Chika Robertson, and at the King’s School Canterbury as a Music Scholar.
At the Academy he led the Sinfonia and Symphony Orchestras, including ‘play-leading’ a performance at Cadogan Hall. Joe was also a member of the National Youth Orchestra for three years, performing in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and Southbank Centre. He has performed solo in venues such as St James Picadilly, Dartington Hall and at the Faversham Music Society. Joe has also recieved guidance from artists such as Thomas Gould, Chloe Hanslip and Esther Yoo.
Scott Storey, viola
Scott Storey is a British violist currently studying at the Royal College of Music in London with Eivind Ringstad and Simon Rowland-Jones. Scott has been awarded full scholarships from both Petronella Dittmer for undergraduate studies, and is the current ABRSM Postgraduate Scholar for a Masters degree. In 2026, Scott was selected as one of five violists from across Europe to take part in the inaugural Festival dei Due Mondi Academy in Spoleto, with highlights including a performance of Brahms’ First String Sextet alongside Kim Kashkashian, Mahler’s Piano Quartet with Andrea Obiso, and a solo performance of Lowell Liebermann’s Viola Sonata.
As a recipient of a Derek Butler Award from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, Scott has also been offered a place on their prestigious young artists’ recital programme. Previous recital appearances include the Concerts at Cratfield series, the Eaton Concert Series, the North Norfolk Music Festival alongside double bassist Levi Andreassen, and the London premiere of Ed Bennett’s Twister. Scott has also taken part in masterclasses with Timothy Ridout, Kim Kashkashian, Thomas Riebl and Maxim Rysanov.
As a chamber musician, Scott has performed in some of the UK’s most celebrated venues and abroad, including the Wigmore Hall, Windsor Castle for HM King Charles III, and at the foot of the Acropolis in Athens. Scott is also the latest appointment to the Vaughan Williams Ensemble, a London-based piano quintet with the unusual combination of violin, viola, cello and double bass. Concerto appearances have included Berlioz’s Harold in Italy with the Bromley Symphony Orchestra in January 2026 and Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante with both the Vanbrugh Ensemble and the Bromley Youth Music Trust. Alongside solo and chamber work, Scott has served as section principal in the RCM’s orchestras, and worked professionally with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, English National Ballet, the Glyndebourne Sinfonia, Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and Covent Garden Sinfonia.
Ella Harrison, cello
Ella is a first year cellist at the Royal College of Music, where she studies with Richard Harwood. She previously studied at The Purcell School with Pal Banda and attended the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music. A member of the National Youth Orchestra for five years, she served as Principal Cellist in 2025 and performed with the orchestra at the BBC Proms.
A passionate chamber musician, Ella has performed at renowned venues including Wigmore Hall, the Elgar Concert Hall in Birmingham, the Leeds and Leicestershire International Chamber Music Series, and has appeared on BBC Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’ programme.
As a soloist, she has appeared with the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra in performances of Elgar’s Cello Concerto at the Bradshaw Hall and at Julian Lloyd Webber’s Broadway Arts Festival. She has also given recitals at Burgh House, St James’s Piccadilly, and at St Albans Cathedral as part of the Hertfordshire Music Festival 2026.
Recent highlights include a performance of Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1 with the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, and collaborations with the Lee Singers in performances of Nystedt’s Stabat Mater and Tavener’s Svyati. Ella has participated in masterclasses with leading cellists including Robert Cohen, Josephine Knight, and Zlatomir Fung. She currently performs on an 1800’s English cello generously loaned by Benslow Music.
