As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed at major concert halls in Europe, North America and the Far East. He is violinist in the London Bridge Ensemble, the Olivier Ensemble and the Picander Ensemble. He also has a long-standing violin and piano duo with the pianist Philip Moore, with whom he made his Wigmore Hall debut in 2000. In recent years Benjamin has played at international festivals including Aldeburgh, Gloucester, Schleswig Holstein and the BBC Proms. He is often heard on BBC Radio 3, and is a regular guest of the Nash and Hebrides ensembles. As an orchestral leader he has played with the Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic, Halle and Scottish Chamber Orchestras. He is currently leader of the New London Soloists Orchestra with whom he regularly appears as soloist. He has recently performed concertos by Mendelssohn, Elgar, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi and Leighton. Benjamin is married to the violinist Anna Safonova, with whom he often plays duos.
