About us

Wye Valley Chamber Music was established in 2000 to bring world-class chamber music to beautiful and intimate venues up and down the Wye Valley. Since its inaugural year, when founders Daniel Tong (pictured right) and Fiona McNaught (at left) brought a group of young musicians on a 'chamber music retreat' to St Briavels Castle, the organisation has grown year-on-year and has established itself as an important year-round cultural presence in the Wye Valley.

Wye Valley Chamber Music incorporates two annual events: the main one of these is the Wye Valley Chamber Music Festival. Taking place in January, each year about 25 of the best young chamber musicians take up residence at Treowen Manor (having moved from St Briavels Castle in 2008) to rehearse and perform six concerts in ten days. In 2006 the September Series was established to ensure a year-round presence in the area and also to allow Wye Valley Chamber Music to research new venues.
